Job summary

Winpak is seeking an Accountant to join our Accounting Team in Winnipeg, Manitoba. You will manage daily and monthly general accounting, reconcile ledgers, and provide financial analysis to support consolidated monthly statements.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in accounting, strong Excel skills, and experience with multi-entity operations and intercompany activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in commerce or equivalent in accounting.
• 3+ years in accounting with GL, journal entries, reconciliations.
• Experience with financial reporting and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Maintain integrity of transactions across AR, AP, inventory and GL interfaces.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations, including payroll and accruals.
• Complete bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts.
• Prepare inventory reconciliations and related journal entries.
• Reconcile monthly sales reports and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare working papers and balance sheet reconciliations; assist year-end audits.
• Reconcile intercompany accounts and related-party transactions.
• Review GL activity and variances; provide explanations and recommendations.
• Prepare financial reports including trends, gross margin, and budgets.
• Assist with U.S. filings and support ISO/SQF/TQI compliance.
