Job summary

Learning Disabilities Society is seeking instructors to deliver one-to-one online learning for K–12 students. You will create neuroaffirming, strengths-based lessons, assess learners, and craft year-long plans linked to measurable goals.

Contract instructors work 6–20 hours weekly, with prep time. Start Sept 8, 2026 for the 2026-27 school year. Remuneration is $28-33/hour; fully remote across Canada; national eligibility to work in Canada; apply via [e-mail].

Qualifications

• Experience with school-aged children with diagnosed or suspected learning differences.
• Experience in strengths-based, neuroaffirming learning environments.
• Experience using structured, systematic, and explicit instructional approaches.
• Experience teaching literacy concepts using a structured literacy/Science of Reading approach.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Demonstrated commitment to our charitable mission.
• Self-motivated and self-directed.
• Ability to provide a criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening.
• Eligibility to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one instruction live online.
• Create and maintain a learning environment that is neuroaffirming, strengths-based, and enjoyable for all learners.
• Identify learner strengths and challenges through informal and formal assessment.
• Draw from multiple resources and curricula, develop and implement year-long learning plans and daily lesson plans for your assigned learners that are individualized, neuroaffirming, strength-based, evidence-based, technology-enhanced and linked to measurable learning goals.
• Provide formal and informal written progress reports, with or without the use of assistive technology.
