AbbVie Canada is looking to hire an Oncology, Therapeutic Specialist to join our commercial sales team. Preferably, this role will be based in Quebec City and will cover Quebec City and Quebec East. The Oncology, Therapeutic Specialist will focus on Oncologists treating Solid Tumors.

Our Oncology, Therapeutic Specialists develop robust business plans to execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, deliver sales performance, and effectively build strong customer relationships. They support customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance, placing the patient at the center of efforts while operating within AbbVie's business code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed business goals.
  2. Create pre-call plans and evaluate post-call outcomes to improve sales performance; handle objections logically and rationally to close sales.
  3. Support key stakeholders' needs and expectations proactively to build trusted relationships and partnerships.
  4. Execute regional account plans to achieve set metrics and optimize coverage of key customers, maximizing sales opportunities.
  5. Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, patient journey, competitors, market segments, accounts, diseases, products, and clinical expertise; share intelligence to align strategies and anticipate environmental changes.
  6. Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with healthcare providers and develop disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Business, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years in a Specialty Sales role with a strong clinical background in the pharmaceutical industry; Oncology experience is required, Solid Tumors experience is preferable.
    • Deep scientific and therapeutic knowledge in oncology and the Canadian Oncology sector.
    • Experience in physician/account-based selling, medical, managed health care, or marketing preferred.
    • Key Account management skills are important.
  • Proven sales success and strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to identify customer styles/behaviors and adapt selling approaches quickly.
  • Recognized as an expert with in-depth scientific, oncology product, and competitive knowledge.
  • Strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools; strategic and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Innovative thinker, capable of maximizing opportunities and responding to challenges.
  • Credibility and respect among peers; collaborative team player.
  • Proven leadership and support experience with increased responsibilities.
  • Ability to leverage findings to develop sales strategies.

Essential skills & abilities:

  • French/English proficiency (oral and written).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfortable with technology and various tools/systems.
  • Willingness to work evenings/weekends and travel overnight (~20-30%).
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
