AbbVie Canada is seeking an Oncology Therapeutic Specialist to join our commercial sales team, preferably based in Toronto Center or Ottawa, covering Toronto Center and Ontario East. The role focuses on Oncologists treating Solid Tumors.

The Oncology Therapeutic Specialist develops business plans to execute brand strategies, deliver sales, and build customer relationships. They support customer needs to maximize sales performance, prioritizing patient-centered efforts and adhering to AbbVie's policies and regulations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans and evaluate post-call to improve sales; handle objections effectively.
  • Support key stakeholders to build trusted relationships.
  • Implement regional account plans to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Understand customer needs, market landscape, patient journey, competitors, and share insights with team members.
  • Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition and develop disease state experts and advocates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Business, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years in a Specialty Sales role within the pharmaceutical industry, with oncology experience required, solid tumors preferred.
  • Deep scientific and therapeutic knowledge in oncology and the Canadian sector.
  • Experience in physician/account-based selling, medical, or marketing preferred.
  • Proven sales success and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer style.
  • Recognized expertise in oncology products and competitive landscape.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Effective in matrix environments, innovative, credible, and collaborative.
  • Leadership experience preferred.

Essential skills & abilities:

  • Proficiency in English (oral and written).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable with technology and tools.
  • Availability for evening/weekend work and overnight travel (~20-30%).
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.

  • Sound business judgment and market assessment skills.
  • Strong analytical skills for data-driven decisions.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

This position covers Ontario EAST, based in Toronto or Ottawa.
