Qualifications

• Certified or eligible to be certified through the Physician Assistant Certification Council (PACC).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (with patients, physicians, other health professionals).
• Strong clinical assessment skills.
• Ability to order, perform and interpret diagnostic information, if delegated.
• Ability to work in an interprofessional healthcare environment.
• Technical/procedural skills and/or inpatient clinical experience would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining health history and demographics, chief complaint, and medical background.
• Conduct comprehensive and focused physical assessments and interpret findings.
• Utilize assessment results to formulate a differential diagnosis and determine if further testing is needed.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests as delegated (e.g., ultrasound, scans, labs).
• Formulate a treatment and management plan based on assessment results and patient needs.
• Provide patient education regarding treatment options and follow-up.
