Sault Area Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, seeks a Temporary Part-Time Registered Nurse for the Algoma District Cancer Program.

You will provide holistic cancer care, administer chemotherapy/biotherapy, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the oncology team to ensure safe and evidence-based treatment. Applicants should have Ontario nursing competence, IV and chemotherapy certifications, and be willing to pursue CONC when eligible; two years of acute care and oncology

Qualifications

• Certificate of competency in Ontario.
• Current venipuncture (IV) certification.
• Current certification in the de Souza Provincial Standardized Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Course.
• Willingness to complete the CNA Certification in Oncology Nursing Canada (CONC) when eligible.
• Two years’ previous acute patient care work experience.
• Recent experience with chemotherapy or radiation therapy administration.

Responsabilités

• Provide holistic nursing care for patients with cancer and their families.
• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy and provide education on plan of care.
• Collaborate with oncologist and participate in shared decision-making and problem solving.
• Participate in evidence-based practice to optimize patient outcomes.
• Support management of cancer- and treatment-related symptoms (systemic/radiation).
• Ensure safety for patients and staff by following relevant regulations and procedures.
