The Oncology Nurse is responsible for providing holistic cancer care to patients over the spectrum of the oncology experience: assessment, intervention, treatment administration and follow‑up in the ambulatory setting. The Oncology Nurse will participate in patient/family education, make pertinent nursing assessments, collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team and provide appropriate interventions. The incumbent must be available to work a variable schedule and work cross all sites. Nursing staff work with cytotoxic and hazardous medications on a regular basis. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and training are provided.
The Float Pool provides nursing support to both Outpatient Clinic and Systemic Therapy Programs across all of CancerCare Manitoba sites, including MacCharles, St. Boniface Hospital, Victoria General Hospital, and Grace General Hospital.
