Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a talented Training Manager to join our team. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing on-site activities to deliver operating and maintenance training for a light rail transit (LRT) design-build project. Responsibilities include managing subcontractors and internal staff and their training deliverables for various subsystems and components of the Edmonton Valley Line West LRT project, in accordance with the training plan.

The On-Site Training Manager will ensure the delivery of training and materials to light rail operator staff in a train-the-trainer format, meeting all requirements and best practices. Additionally, the role involves developing in-house training materials, organizing course deliveries, and arranging video recordings of training sessions, including reviewing training materials, manuals, drawings, plans, method statements, and specifications.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Plan and schedule training sessions with all stakeholders to support the project schedule.
  • Ensure resources such as trainers, venues, materials, and equipment are available for all onsite training sessions.
  • Coordinate videographer services for training sessions.
  • Attend and facilitate training sessions to ensure engagement and effective learning.
  • Maintain detailed training records, certifications, and reports for audit purposes.
  • Develop effective technical training modules for various LRT systems and procedures.
  • Collaborate with departments to align training programs with business objectives.
  • Liaise with clients and third-party providers for specialized training.
  • Conduct comment resolution and collaborative activities with staff.
  • Update training documentation regularly for relevance.
  • Provide innovative learning solutions and industry best practices.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Degree in engineering or equivalent with at least 10 years of experience in instructional design and adult learning in a technical organization.
  • Knowledge of LRT construction, operations, and relevant standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based collaboration tools.
  • Strong technical reviewing, writing, and editing skills.
