ERG Job Opportunity: Quality Assurance Engineer/Scientist

ERG is a research and consulting firm supporting federal, state, and commercial clients with multidisciplinary teams skilled in engineering, science, economics, public health, IT, and communications. We seek highly motivated individuals with the ability to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced engineer or scientist to support quality management in an ISO 9001:2015-compliant energetics and chemical manufacturing environment. The role involves designing strategies, managing multiple efforts, and developing an understanding of quality and safety processes.

Location: Full-time on-site at the federal site in Indian Head, MD, with interaction from ERG offices in Chantilly and Arlington, VA. Indian Head is close to Washington, DC, Alexandria, VA, and Fredericksburg, VA.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Support manufacturing of torpedo fuel, propellant grains/rocket motors, igniters, aircrew escape devices, chemicals, explosives, grenades, bombs, warheads, and sub-components in an ISO 9001:2015 facility.
2. Assist with Quality Control, problem-solving, document reviews, audits, oversight, and data management.
3. Review technical documents like TDPs, QPPs, SOPs, and shop travelers, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
4. Communicate audit and review results, lead teams, and assist in training activities.
5. Develop and implement strategies and initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
6. Manage multiple projects, collaborate across departments, and understand related processes and practices.
7. Promote safety, reduce costs, and address hazards.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in engineering or science.
• At least 4 years of experience in a related manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of analytical and problem-solving techniques.
• Expertise in ISO 9001:2015 or similar QMS.
• Strong understanding of quality engineering principles.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis, statistical process control, and technical communication.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and technical review processes.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements and conduct quality audits.
• Machine shop experience is a plus but not required.
