Job summary

TRIUMF Innovations Inc. seeks an OHS Specialist to be the on-site safety lead at our Vancouver facilities. You will implement safety programs, manage work permits, conduct inspections, and coordinate corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment for researchers, staff, and visitors.

You will also participate in risk assessments, safety audits, training delivery, and emergency response planning, ensuring regulatory compliance and strong collaboration with operations and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in OH&S or related field.
• At least 3 years of OH&S field experience in industrial, lab, medical or research settings.
• Professional certifications (CRSP/CIH/NEBOSH/CSP) are assets.
• Eligible to work in Canada permanently.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site OH&S support and advice at assigned facilities.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining OH&S policies and programs.
• Coordinate work permits programs and ensure permit conditions are met on-site.
• Conduct regular inspections/audits and raise corrective actions.
• Lead housekeeping and hazard-reduction initiatives to improve safety.
• Support incident investigations and near-miss analyses to identify root causes.
