Job summary

TRIUMF, Canada's national laboratory for particle and nuclear physics, seeks a post-secondary student to support the Office of Research Services. The role focuses on organizing records, migrating content to SharePoint, and ensuring data accuracy across agreements and funding applications.

You will gain exposure to research administration, contract types, and patent processes while contributing to a national lab environment on the UBC Vancouver campus.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary student from any field of study.
  • Excellent organizational and detail-oriented approach.
  • Ability to identify improvements in record-keeping systems.
  • Strong written communication with TRIUMF staff.
  • Understanding of research administration in academia.
  • Familiarity with contract types and patent processes.
  • Experience with survey development is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Update and migrate ORS website to SharePoint by editing existing content and writing new content.
  • Confirm and correct the accuracy of information in TRIUMF’s agreements database.
  • Confirm and correct the accuracy of information in TRIUMF’s funding applications database.
  • Cross-reference digital records across online platforms (e.g.: SharePoint, Docushare).
  • Ensure all agreements and funding applications are saved to TRIUMF’s content management system (Docushare).

Located on the UBC campus makes it easier for students to make friends, create memories, and explore Vancouver all while working at TRIUMF. Job Description

Basic Function This position is responsible for assisting the Office of Research Services (ORS) with organizational and administrative tasks related to record-keeping systems for TRIUMF’s: a) research and commercialization agreements, b) funding applications and outcomes, and c) trade compliance and research security matters.

Responsibilities
  • Update and migrate ORS website to SharePoint by editing existing content and writing new content.

Qualifications

This position is open to post-secondary students from any field of study.

Required skills and abilities include:

  • Self learner: ability to identify areas of improvement in relation to record-keeping systems.
  • Excellent written communication skills: ability to communicate with TRIUMF staff effectively and professionally.
  • Learning Outcomes Understanding of the function of a Research Administration office in academic research.
  • Understanding of the various types of legal agreements and contracts used in research.
  • Understanding of the patent filing and approval processes.
  • Experience in survey development.

TRIUMF offers help with travel costs for students outside the Vancouver and surrounding area.

Salary is commensurate with academic progress and previous relevant work experience, and ranges from $ 2815 to $ 4238 per month including 4% vacation pay.
