Job summary

Bird Construction is seeking a QA/QC Mechanical Inspector to support quality assurance on a major nuclear construction project in Tiverton, Ontario. You will work with construction, engineering, subcontractors and client representatives to ensure mechanical work meets project specs and Bird's QMS.

The role is site-based and requires security screening and site access. You will read drawings, verify compliance, and participate in testing, documentation, NCR management, turnover and closeout

Qualifications

• 3+ years of QA/QC, inspection, or mechanical construction experience.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Experience in regulated environments and with NCR management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of mechanical systems, equipment, piping, and installations.
• Verify compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Complete inspections, walkdowns, surveillance activities, and testing documentation.
• Support ITPs, turnover packages, and quality records.
• Identify and document deficiencies, NCRs, and corrective actions.
• Participate in commissioning, system turnover, and project closeout activities.
• Maintain quality documentation and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
