Job summary

Modern Niagara is seeking an HSE Coordinator to join the QEII Halifax Infirmary Expansion Project in Halifax. You will support a preventative safety culture, coordinate training, manage documentation, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards across operations.

You will work with field teams and leadership to reduce risk, track statistics, and uphold client requirements, with on‑site responsibilities and opportunities to develop a long‑term career in construction safety.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience working in the construction industry.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Effective communication skills with the ability to work with employees and stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate internal and external health and safety training, including scheduling and record maintenance.
• Maintain, upload, and manage training and safety documentation within internal systems.
• Facilitate HSE orientation for all new hires.
• Support contractor compliance across third‑party platforms (e.g., Avetta, ISNet).
• Assist with document control, data integrity, and quality assurance of safety records.
• Support the HSE and Risk Management teams by preparing required statistics and documentation for prequalification.
