Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Field Engineering Intern to join our construction services team on-site in North Vancouver, British Columbia. This internship, starting in January 2027, offers hands-on engineering experience and a bridge from student to professional engineer.

Ideal candidates are second- or third-year students in chemical, environmental, civil, electrical, mechanical, or integrated engineering who want to build practical skills in a multidisciplinary construction setting and pursue licensure

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Civil, Environmental, Electrical, Mechanical, or Integrated Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline, with the intent to return to school following the internship unless graduating.
  • Completion of at least two (2) years of undergraduate study at the time of application.
  • Familiarity with engineering and design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or similar software.

Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain field review tracker.
  • Participate in site inspections.
  • Support project engineers with AI initiatives; automate processes and workflows using AI, Power BI, or other tools.
  • Coordinate with the engineering team regarding field review outcomes.
  • Coordinate with engineers from various disciplines to support integrated project delivery.
  • Participate in internal and external coordination meetings.
