Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking an EHS Specialist to lead environmental, health and safety at our Ontario/Paris locations. You will champion safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance and collaborate across departments to reduce occupational risks.

You will develop policies, deliver training, monitor incidents, and support audits while coordinating site-level improvements and travel between locations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of occupational health and safety experience in manufacturing.
• Diploma or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (preferred).
• Proven health and safety management experience.
• Strong knowledge of Environmental and Health & Safety regulatory requirements.
• CRSP designation an asset.
• The NCSO® and other safety certifications are highly desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong supervisory and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with management to lead change initiatives and improve safety culture.
• Provide expert guidance to foster a positive health and safety culture and manage risks.
• Develop and improve local EH&S policies, procedures and safe work instructions.
• Develop and conduct EHS training to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Implement safety metrics and reporting to leadership.
• Conduct site reviews to set EH&S goals and track progress.
• Support investigation of EH&S incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Create reporting tools to monitor investigations and mitigations.
• Facilitate return-to-work and manage workers' compensation claims.
• Monitor regulatory changes and advise on compliance improvements.
