A leading technology company in Toronto is seeking a Data Center Technician to support critical infrastructure in a freelance, on-site position. Your role involves installing and maintaining server and network equipment, managing cabling, monitoring environmental systems, and collaborating with engineering teams. The ideal candidate has over 3 years of dedicated data center operations experience and holds relevant certifications. A comprehensive benefits package and a salary range of C$55,000-70,000 CAD annually are offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years data center operations experience.
• Expert cabling skills (Cat6/6a, OM3/OM4/OS2 fiber).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with rack and stack operations.
• Understanding of power distribution and UPS systems.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in demanding environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment.
• Perform structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Execute hardware deployments and decommissions.
• Monitor environmental systems (power, cooling, security).
• Respond to incidents and perform troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate documentation and asset tracking.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams.
• Participate in capacity planning and upgrades.
