Job summary

A tech service provider is seeking an experienced Data Center Technician for on-site freelance work in Canada. This role focuses on supporting mission-critical infrastructure at data center facilities, performing installations, troubleshooting, and documentation. Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience, strong cabling skills, and be familiar with server hardware. Competitive hourly compensation between CAD $26-36 based on experience level. Candidates should also possess data and network certifications, preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• 2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience.
• Strong cabling skills for Cat5e/6/6a and fiber optic.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in raised floor environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations.
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues.
