Job summary

Emil Anderson Construction seeks a Civil Superintendent to lead on-site civil projects across British Columbia. You will oversee crews, coordinate daily operations, and ensure safety and quality standards are met on busy road and bridge sites.

Based in Kelowna with travel to out-of-town projects on a rotation, you will guide teams, manage schedules, and collaborate with the Project Manager to deliver high-quality infrastructure on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the construction industry.
• 5+ years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with difficult access grading and rock work.
• Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
• Multi-discipline bridge experience is an asset.
• Gold Seal Certification is an asset.
• Valid Canadian driver’s licence and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary on-site representative, coordinating client, public, labour, and subcontractor interactions.
• Lead day-to-day construction activities and ensure alignment with plans.
• Implement site safety, quality, environmental and traffic plans.
• Coordinate project scheduling and resource allocation.
• Prepare and communicate daily, weekly and monthly reports; advise Project Manager on site changes.
• Drive continuous improvement to safety, quality and profitability on site.
• Coordinate with Project Manager on labour/equipment needs and with maintenance for servicing.
• Ensure compliance with collective agreements and liaise with union business agents.
