Job summary

Emil Anderson Group seeks a Civil Superintendent to lead on-site execution of civil construction projects across British Columbia. You will oversee crews, coordinate daily operations, and enforce safety and quality standards in a hands-on environment.

The role requires 5+ years in construction and supervisory experience, with travel to out-of-town projects on a rotational basis. Based in the Fraser Valley, this position offers growth within a longstanding BC contractor.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the construction industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in a supervisory position.
  • Experience with difficult access grading and rock work.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Multi-discipline bridge experience is an asset.
  • Gold Seal Certification is an asset.
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license and clean driving abstract required.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary on-site representative, managing client, public, labour, and subcontractor interactions.
  • Lead day-to-day construction activities, ensuring alignment with project plans and specifications.
  • Execute site safety, quality, environmental, and traffic management plans effectively.
  • Coordinate project scheduling, resource allocation, and ensure adherence to timelines.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of daily, weekly, and monthly reports; communicate site changes and solutions to the Project Manager.
  • Seek continuous improvements to site safety, quality, and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager on labour and equipment needs, and with mechanical operations for servicing and repairs.
  • Maintain compliance with collective agreements and communicate with union business agents.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a motivated Civil Superintendent with a background in civil construction and/or engineering who is ready to take the lead on-site with a company that has a long-standing history in BC roadbuilding. With a diverse fleet of equipment, a supportive team, and opportunities for professional growth, you’ll play a valuable role in projects that make a difference in communities across the province.

As a Civil Superintendent, you’ll be the driving force behind the successful execution of civil construction projects in the field. From overseeing crews and coordinating daily operations to ensuring safety and quality standards are met, your leadership will directly shape the outcome of infrastructure projects across BC. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in hands‑on environments.

This role is based out of the Fraser Valley, with the possibility of travel to out‑of‑town projects on a rotational schedule. If you are positive, people-oriented, and eager to grow in the civil construction industry, this could be the role for you!

Your Key Responsibilities
