Job summary

Skyline Living in Brantford, Ontario is seeking a diligent building attendant to perform janitorial and basic maintenance tasks across apartment communities. You will ensure clean common areas, assist residents, and coordinate with contractors as needed.

The role requires 2-3 years of experience in cleaning or building maintenance, on-site work, and a valid driver’s license; ability to handle physical tasks and operate basic tools is expected.

Qualifications

• College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
• 2 years to less than 3 years
• On site

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs
• Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse
• Empty trash cans and other waste containers
• Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings
• Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs
• Advertise vacancy
• Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment
• Perform minor repairs on appliances
• Perform safety and security checks
• Show apartments and offices to prospective tenants
• Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies
• Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
• Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures
• Work with minimal supervision
• Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
