Job summary

Standard General Edmonton is seeking an On‑Road Heavy Equipment Technician to repair and maintain heavy trucks, troubleshoot complex issues, and perform inspections. The role requires travel to off‑site locations and may include overtime or weekend work.

Must hold a Journeyperson certificate and CVIP Inspection Certification, with 3–5 years of highway truck experience and valid Class 5 license. Union membership with IUOE Local 955 is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diagnose and troubleshoot heavy trucks including on‑road equipment.
• Perform complete repair and overhaul functions in a timely manner.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and maintenance documentation.
• Knowledge of air brake systems and ABS is required.
• Willingness to travel to off-site locations and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain heavy trucks and on‑road equipment.
• Troubleshoot major and minor mechanical problems.
• Perform Vehicle Inspections and tests after repairs.
• Document maintenance with accurate reports and records.
• Respond to road calls as required and install new equipment.
