Fueling Brains Academy is seeking an passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team. You will nurture young learners, deliver developmentally appropriate activities, and work with a supportive group of pedagogical leaders in spacious, well-lit classrooms with access to a playground.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience working with children.
• Early Childhood Certification - ECE Level 1/2 required.
• First Aid Certificate is required or may be obtained upon hire.
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check within the past 6 months.
• Reggio-inspired or Montessori experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Make a difference every day for the children.
• Spark imagination and help children discover new things daily.
• Guide children in self-motivated learning and curiosity.
• Collaborate with classroom teams for planning and weekly lesson plans.
• Plan developmentally appropriate activities and open-ended learning experiences.
• Supervise the classroom to ensure safety and encourage creativity.
• Assist children with self-care (diapering, dressing, feeding).
• Report progress and challenges to the Director or parents regularly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Lead Teachers and Supervisors.

KEY ACCOUNTAILITIES AND RESPONSIILITIES:

• Make a difference every day!

• Encourage children through role modeling and guidance to respect themselves and others.
• Collaborate with classroom teams for planning and implementation of weekly lesson plans.
• Plan open-ended activities with an emphasis on process orientation and a developmentally appropriate curriculum with age-appropriate and individualized activities.
• Be responsible for reporting challenges, successes, and competencies of each student to the Director or to parents on a regular basis.
• Supervise the classroom, helping the children to think creatively, to solve problems independently, and respect themselves and others.
• Be responsible for ensuring an educational, caring, and safe environment for the children.
• Assist children with self-care (i.e. dressing, diapering, feeding).
• Other duties as assigned by Lead Teachers and Program Supervisors.

WHAT YOU BRING (PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS)

• Minimum one year of experience working with children
• Early Childhood Certification - ECE Level 1/2
• Reggio-inspired or Montessori experience is an asset.
• Current First Aid Certificate (may be obtained upon hire)
