Job summary

Fueling Brains Academy in Calgary is seeking enthusiastic On-Call Early Childhood Educators to support classrooms with a dynamic, project-based approach. You will partner with Lead Teachers to nurture curiosity, foster development, and maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience working with children (at least six months in Canada).
• ECE Certification - ECE Level 1, 2 or 3 is required.
• Reggio-inspired or Montessori experience is an asset.
• Current First Aid Certificate (may be obtained upon hire).
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check within the past 6 months (may be obtained upon hire).

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Make a difference every day!
• Spark imagination, build self-esteem, and help children discover new things each day.
• Guide children in self-motivated learning, helping stimulate their natural desire to learn.
• Encourage children through role modeling and guidance to respect themselves and others.
• Collaborate with classroom teams for planning and implementation of weekly lesson plans.
• Plan open-ended activities with an emphasis on process orientation and a developmentally appropriate curriculum with age-appropriate and individualized activities.
• Be responsible for reporting challenges, successes, and competencies of each student to the Director or to parents on a regular basis.
• Supervise the classroom, helping the children to think creatively, to solve problems independently, and respect themselves and others.
• Be responsible for ensuring an educational, caring, and safe environment for the children.
• Assist children with self-care (i.e. dressing, diapering, feeding).
• Other duties as assigned by Lead Teachers and Program Supervisors.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum one year of experience working with children (At least six months in Canada is a must)
