Fueling Brains Academies is seeking On-Call Teachers to support early childhood classrooms in Calgary. The role emphasizes emergent, project-based teaching, strong interpersonal skills, and a collaborative, positive classroom culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience working with children.
• ECE Level 1/2 certification or equivalent.
• Reggio-inspired or Montessori experience is an asset.
• First Aid Certificate (may be obtained upon hire).
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (within past 6 months; may be obtained upon hire).

Responsibilities

• Make a difference every day in a classroom setting.
• Lead open-ended, developmentally appropriate activities.
• Collaborate with lead teachers and program supervisors for lesson planning.
• Ensure a safe, caring, and educational environment.
• Assist with self-care tasks and diapering as needed.
• Report student progress to the Director or parents regularly.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Make a difference every day!
• Spark imagination, build self-esteem, and help children discover new things each day.
• Guide children in self-motivated learning, helping stimulate their natural desire to learn.
• Encourage children through role modeling and guidance to respect themselves and others.
• Collaborate with classroom teams for planning and implementation of weekly lesson plans.
• Plan open-ended activities with an emphasis on process orientation and a developmentally appropriate curriculum with age-appropriate and individualized activities.
• Be responsible for reporting challenges, successes, and competencies of each student to the Director or to parents on a regular basis.
• Supervise the classroom, helping the children to think creatively, to solve problems independently, and respect themselves and others.
• Be responsible for ensuring an educational, caring, and safe environment for the children.
• Assist children with self-care (i.e. dressing, diapering, feeding).
• Other duties as assigned by Lead Teachers and Program Supervisors.

What You Bring (preferred Skills And Qualifications)

• Minimum one year of experience working with children
