Job summary

Canada Post is seeking a temporary, on-call delivery agent (letter carrier) in Stephenville, NL. You’ll start the day at the depot, sort and prepare deliveries, then drive a postal vehicle and deliver mail and parcels to customers on your route.

Must have a valid driver’s licence and the stamina to work in all weather. English and/or French language skills are required; position offers competitive pay and potential for permanent employment.

Qualifications

• Valid Class5 or ClassG driver’s licence with a clean driving record and at least 3 years of driving experience.
• Physically able to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and be on-call as needed.
• Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English and/or French.

Responsibilities

• Start day at the depot sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries.
• Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle to routes.
• Deliver mail and packages on foot or by vehicle to customers along the route.
• Return to the depot to unload incoming mail and packages for later delivery.
