Job summary

Canada Post is seeking a temporary, on-call Letter Carrier in Toronto, ON. You will start in the depot, sort deliveries, then drive a postal vehicle to deliver mail and parcels along a route, often outdoors in all weather.

The role requires a valid driver’s licence, physical ability to lift and carry, and English or French literacy. This is a temporary on-call position with potential for future permanent opportunities within Canada Post.

Qualifications

• Valid Class5 or ClassG driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years.
• Physical ability to lift mail items up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly.
• Ability to work in all types of weather.
• Availability to be on-call.
• Ability to read, write and speak English and/or French.

Responsibilities

• Sort and prepare the day’s deliveries at the depot.
• Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle.
• Deliver mail and packages on route by foot or vehicle.
• Return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail.
