SUPPORTS NEEDED

• Perform the regular duties of the Classroom Teacher who you are filling in for
• Follow established yearly overviews, unit plans, and day plans
• Support the student-centered learning program in place which enhances the explicit programs our school delivers
• Integrate students with disabilities and challenges in a positive and respectful manner
• Supervision duties including classroom supervision, field trips, & recess/lunch supervision
• Implement positive discipline when required in accordance with the School Handbook, including Conflict Resolution and Restorative Justice
• Ensure children have a safe and secure learning environment
• Attend Language and Culture classes daily with students to support classroom management and language learning, including local outings such as hiking
• In case of extended teacher absence, collaborate to complete student report cards and interim reports using school-wide formats
• Supervise classroom activities, field trips, and other duties as required

Qualifications

• Valid BC teaching certificate issued by the Teacher Regulation Branch or in the process of obtaining one
• Current First Aid/CPR certificate or willingness to obtain
