Job summary

Okanagan Regional Library in Armstrong, Falkland and Silver Creek branches invites applications for an Auxiliary On-Call Assistant Community Librarian role. Under the Community Librarian, you assist in all phases of service to the public and provide branch coverage when the Supervisor is absent.

As an Auxiliary On-Call employee, you must be available for peak times, weekends, evenings, and around holidays, with training sessions April 27–May 1, 2026 in Kelowna.

Qualifications

• One year of work or volunteer experience with the public.
• Experience in customer service or educational settings.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all phases of service to the public under supervision.
• Provide branch coverage when Supervisor is absent.
• Exercise independent judgement within ORL policies.
• Support peak-time coverage, including weekends and evenings.
