The Okanagan Regional Library in Kelowna and Rutland is seeking Auxiliary On-Call Community Librarians to support branch services with the Community Librarian and Branch Supervisor, including coverage during vacations and short absences.
Applicants should have Grade 12, at least one year of customer service experience, familiarity with mobile tech and Microsoft Office, and be available for peak times, weekends, evenings, and the April training session.

It is a vibrant library system, with 30 branches, serving 26 diverse communities, over 300 employees and a service population of over 400,000 people.
Under the direction of the Community Librarian, Branch Services Supervisor or the System Circulation Coordinator, the incumbent assists the Community Librarian/Branch Head in all phases of service to the public and assumes responsibility for branch services when the Supervisor is absent for a short period of time. The incumbent exercises some independent judgement within established Okanagan Regional Library policies, procedures, and practices.
As an Auxiliary On-Call employee, the expectation is to provide coverage for the vacation and sick time of Permanent Employees.Auxiliary staff must be available for 'Peak Times' such as weekends, evenings, and days before and after holidays.
Grade 12 or equivalent
One (1) year work or volunteer experience working with the public in a customer service or educational setting, i.e.; retail/restaurant or leading recreation/cultural programs or classes.
