Job Overview

GrizzlyTrek is currently hiring a skilled Oilfield Pipefitter for a full-time position based in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems in a high-paced oilfield environment. This is a strong opportunity for individuals who are safety-focused and ready to contribute to complex, high-quality field projects.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assemble, install, and maintain piping systems for oil and gas production and processing facilities.
  2. Cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes using proper tools and techniques.
  3. Interpret and work from blueprints, isometric drawings, and P&IDs.
  4. Inspect and test piping systems for leaks and structural integrity.
  5. Collaborate with other trades to ensure efficient and safe field operations.
  6. Complete field-level hazard assessments and adhere to site-specific safety procedures.
  7. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and operational condition.
Qualifications:
  1. Journeyman Pipefitter (Red Seal preferred) or equivalent trade certification.
  2. 3–5 years of experience in oilfield or industrial pipefitting.
  3. Strong understanding of piping systems, fittings, and supports in pressurized environments.
  4. Ability to read technical drawings and follow specifications.
  5. Familiarity with rigging and hoisting procedures.
  6. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  7. Required Safety Tickets:
    • H2S Alive
    • Standard First Aid with CPR/AED
    • CSO (Common Safety Orientation) or BSO
    • Fall Protection
    • Confined Space Entry & Monitor
    • WHMIS 2015
    • Ground Disturbance (Level II preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience with hydro-testing and pneumatic testing procedures.
  2. Knowledge of fabrication and spool installation.
  3. Familiarity with facility construction and maintenance projects in the oilfield.
Work Environment:
  1. Field-based role in oilfield/industrial settings, often outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
  2. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
