Job summary

Suncor is hiring a Sitewide Lead for Oil Sands to provide integrated operational leadership across multiple areas and business units, driving safe, reliable production and maximizing asset availability. This senior role aligns site priorities, coordinates production and fluid movements, and enables fast, effective decision‑making during routines and upsets.

The role requires extensive experience in oil sands operations, safety leadership, and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

Post‑secondary engineering or related discipline is preferred.
Strong background in safety leadership and production optimization.
Experience leading multi‑unit or integrated operations across sites.

Responsibilities

Coordinate operations across locations, areas, and units to safely execute the integrated production plan.
Optimize daily and medium‑term Oil Sands production balancing safety, reliability, and asset availability.
Monitor production performance and coordinate mitigation actions.
Chair production and short‑interval control meetings and communicate status across teams.
Lead sitewide operational response to major process upsets and disruptions.
Support planning with recovery plans and long‑range initiatives.
Identify risks and drive standardized practices and continuous improvement.
