Job summary

Canada Post seeks an experienced professional to lead addressing and delivery planning across designated communities. You will coordinate with municipal authorities, developers and contractors to implement new delivery sites and addresses while prioritizing safety and cost efficiency.

The role requires strong communication skills, French proficiency, and the ability to travel frequently. You will mentor junior planners and support regional operational planning with delivery systems expertise.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or provincial equivalent (GED).
• Post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree in urban planning, GIS, graphic design, rural planning or related discipline; OR minimum 2 years supervisory experience in collection and delivery/transportation; OR minimum 2 years in Delivery Services or Delivery Optimization roles; OR minimum 4 years in delivery logistics and/or urban planning.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel Pivot Tables, Access).
• Advanced knowledge of CPC web applications such as SAP and KMA, and non-CPC applications including Google Earth, Adobe Acrobat, and AutoCAD.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills at an advanced level
• French Essential
• Valid permanent driver's licence with satisfactory safe driving record
• Availability for frequent travel including overnight stays and remote area travel

Responsibilities

• Monitors growth projections in designated communities and develops addressing and delivery plans.
• Advises maintenance teams on projections to realign plans for street furniture and equipment.
• Collaborates with municipal planning officials and developers to represent Canada Post in plans.
• Plans and manages implementation for new points of call, including addresses, delivery modes, and transfer points.
• Oversees site locations, street furniture, equipment needs, and logistics of installations.
• Coordinates with contractors to ensure timely completion and certifies installations.
• Leads national delivery service projects and manages change with stakeholders.
• Ensures professional service standards and prioritizes customer experience.
• Educational outreach on addressing and delivery procedures to local officials; mentors Delivery Planners.
• Provides Address Management System and other delivery system expertise to support regional planning.

Job description

The Officer provides safe and cost effective delivery mode and addressing solutions for Canada Post and its customers for a designated area of regional operations. This includes providing guidance, direction and controls during the planning and implementation of all new and updated delivery services.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitors growth projections in designated communities, and develops addressing and delivery plans. Maintains ongoing communication with the Officer, Standard Operating Equipment Maintenance to advise them of projections so they can realign plans for street furniture and associated equipment maintenance.
• Works with municipal planning officials and real estate developers to understand their issues and priorities, and represents those of Canada Post. Ensures Canada Post's requirements are built into plans for all construction. Develops and delivers or participates in presentations on proposed new delivery services to municipal authorities and the general public.
• Plans and manages the implementation for new points of call, including assigning addresses and delivery modes, and transfer points while mindful of safety, cost effectiveness and public concerns. Establishes site locations, and street furniture and equipment needs, and oversees logistics of new site installations.
• Works with contractors and suppliers to ensure high quality and timely completion of work. Inspects work and certifies completion for new site installations.
• Plays a local lead role for national delivery service projects, managing change within Canada Post, and with contractors, customers and government officials.
• Projects professional service standards and ensures customer experience is a priority when investigating and resolving service issues and complaints.
• Stays current with Corporate Address and Delivery Planning policies, and works to educate local postal officials on addressing and delivery procedures, reporting compliance, and roles and responsibilities. Mentors and coaches Delivery Planners to further their professional development.
• Provides first level Address Management System, MIS and other delivery systems expertise to support regional operational planning and problem solving.
• Gathers data on municipal and commercial business and development plans and projects and provides input to the operational planning process.
