JoinourTeamWe are seeking an experienced and dedicated full-time Office Assistant to join our team at Vancouver Christian School. In this role, you will be integral to our mission of educating and shaping students through every interaction within and outside our school. As part of our office support staff, you'll have the opportunity to engage with families, students, staff, and guests and share God's love through your actions and words, fostering a welcoming and supportive community.

KeyResponsibilitiesResponsibilities

As an Office Assistant, you will provide front-desk support for our K–12 campus, assist with school events, and offer focused administrative support to a Principal. Key responsibilities include:

Embodying VCS's warm, gracious, and caring community culture by being a welcoming and helpful presence to students, parents, staff, visitors, and service providers, you will assist with:

  • Screening and delegating phone calls, emails, and tasks appropriately
  • Organizing digital files and information systems
  • Managing student attendance using the MyEducation BC information system
  • Managing special projects as assigned
  • Assisting with newsletters, presentations, reports, for both internal and external communications
  • Collaborating with the administrative team on shared responsibilities and supporting the organization of school-wide events
  • Acting as a liaison between administration, staff, students, parents/guardians, and the broader community
  • Providing basic first aid as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in business administration (or a related field)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a school office or professional administrative setting
  • Proficiency in G Suite (Google Workspace), Microsoft Office, and other productivity tools
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, confidential environment and deal effectively with constant interruptions
  • Have a flexible, adaptable attitude and a heart for service, viewing interruptions as opportunities to connect and support others
  • A collaborative, cheerful team player who values working with others toward shared goals
  • Demonstrated empathy, discretion, and sound judgment in handling sensitive matters
