Lester B. Pearson School Board (LBPSB) seeks an Office Agent Principal Class to coordinate teacher placements, recruit candidates, and support HR operations. You will manage applicant databases, coordinate interviews, and liaise with universities and school leaders to ensure smooth staffing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate university student teacher placements and practicum requirements.
  • Maintain relationships with university stage coordinators, student affairs officers, and school administrators.
  • Ensure compliance with Judicial Record Declaration requirements and follow up on outstanding documentation.
  • Collect and provide board-related data and documentation for consultation requests.
  • Coordinate university career fairs and recruitment sessions & activities for teachers.
  • Review applications/CVs, coordinate interviews, communicate results, and prepare employee kits.
  • Meet with new teacher hires to review hiring documentation, procedures, and the Scolago system.
  • Maintain applicant databases and digital files.
  • Communicate recruitment information through school board platforms.
  • Process HRTFs, employee kits, and substitute teacher documentation.
  • Manage employee activation/inactivation and respond to Scolago-related inquiries.
  • Use Scolago to identify candidates for replacement needs.
  • Respond to teacher inquiries regarding French teaching certification.
  • Provide information and guidance regarding CEFRANC, SEL, DALF, and McGill's Certificate in French Immersion Teaching Program.

Hold a Diploma of Vocational Studies in a specialty appropriate for the class of employment, a Secondary School Diploma or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority and have six (6) years of pertinent experience.

AND Have a thorough knowledge of office automation.

Other Requirements
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal skills in both French and English
  • Must have excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word
  • Testing required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to deal with the public in a professional manner
  • Above-average organizational skills to compile pools of candidates in different employee groups.
  • Ability to meet strict staffing deadlines and to provide pertinent information in a timely manner
  • Ability to meet strict payroll deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Able to carry out the responsibilities and duties of the job with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of GRICS Paie system, SSO, Atlas Workland, Fusion, HRTF Live would be an asset
  • Must respect confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Be willing to work additional hours during very busy periods (May-October) - including summer
Nature Of The Work

The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in organizing, coordinating, and monitoring the work performed by his or her team composed of administrative support staff. Daily Tasks/Dossiers
University & School Administrator Liaison
  • Coordinate student teacher placements and practicum requirements
