Job description

Our client in the food industry in Pointe Claire is currently looking for an Import Logistics Coordinator for a contract from June until October, with the possibility of permanence.

The ideal candidate is a client- and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a team-oriented and collaborative culture.

As our Frozen Food Import Logistics Coordinator, you will handle responsibilities from A-Z for shipments from various worldwide locations into the US. You will also lead initiatives to improve service levels for existing and new accounts. This role requires someone highly organized, adaptable to challenges, and capable of thriving in an international environment. Exceptional English communication skills are essential for servicing and building large North American corporate accounts.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule ocean reefer import shipments into the USA
  • Manage customs and FDA releases
  • File ISF documentation
  • Handle export container shipments A-Z (FCA-CFR), including Truck, Ocean, Regulatory Documents, Scheduling
  • Coordinate shipments from North America to the Rest of the World (Asia, Europe, South America) and vice versa
  • Manage FCL reefer shipments of fruits, vegetables, meat, and poultry
  • Collect and generate required documentation based on regulatory requirements
  • Communicate and confirm deliveries throughout the supply chain
  • Problem solve with processors, carriers, warehouses, truckers, and clients
  • Negotiate freight rates for specific shipping lanes
  • Collaborate with Trading, Quality, and Financial Departments
Qualifications
  • Experience in imports within a logistics setting, specifically ocean imports into the USA
  • Knowledge of reefers and ocean shipments
  • Experience managing shipments from foreign facilities to US end clients
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); French and Spanish are assets
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Confident, assertive personality
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
  • International Business Experience
  • Understanding of Incoterms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), PowerBI
  • Certified Customs Specialist
