Job summary

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) is seeking Certified Occasional Teachers to join our Elementary OT Roster (K-8). Occasional Teachers replace short-term absences and support learning across our schools.

Successful candidates must be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers and hold a Basic Qualification in Primary, Junior or Intermediate. Local residency in Ottawa area is expected, with onboarding within 60 days of offer.

Job description

Elementary Occasional Teacher (OT) Roster

We are looking for Certified Occasional Teachers to join our Elementary OT Roster (K-8). Occasional Teachers replace short term absences in our schools and are an integral part of our district.

Qualifications

• Must be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (individuals with a pending OCT certificate should proceed with submitting their application)
• Must hold a minimum of one Basic Qualification of either Primary, Junior or Intermediate.

• Local residency is a mandatory requirement for onboarding. Successful candidates must reside in the Ottawa or surrounding area or be willing to relocate within 60 days from the date of offer, and must be available to begin accepting assignments immediately upon completion of the onboarding process.

Following the closure of this competition in October 2026, only candidates with the required qualifications, who are in Good Standing and visible on OCT, will be contacted for an interview for the next available date. Interviews are expected to take place in November 2026.
