Job summary

CareKW in Kitchener, Ontario is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our local care team supporting patients in facilities and the community. You will work under an Occupational Therapist to provide hands-on rehabilitation and therapy activities.

New graduates are welcome. You must have an OTA diploma, CPR/First Aid, immunizations, and a valid work permit. We offer casual hours, training, mentorship, benefits, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• OTA diploma from an accredited college.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Valid work permit.
• Vulnerable Sector Screening may be required.
• Up-to-date Immunization Records (MMR, TDAP, Varicella, Hep B, Covid-19).
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Ability to follow client care plan accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Support an Occupational Therapist in helping patients with physical, sensory, or cognitive areas.
• Provide hands-on patient care and service to facilitate treatment and rehabilitation.
• Assist clients in care activities as assigned by the Occupational Therapist.
• Implement treatment plans and help patients perform therapeutic activities.
• Monitor and document patients' progress, attitudes, and behavior.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the OT or supervisor.

Role:

• Support an Occupational Therapist in helping patients with physical, sensory, or cognitive areas
