About the Opportunity

• Prepare and administer individual and group physical therapy
• Assist residents with therapeutic intervention programs developed by PT and OT, such as range of motion, resistive exercises, stretching, and ADLs
• Assist residents in ambulation, with or without an ambulatory aid, under the direction of the Physiotherapist
• Document according to policy and procedures (e.g., Daily Resident Care Record, resident progress notes, incident reporting, PPCA, Critical Incidents, etc.)
• Observe and monitor residents’ response during treatment and respond accordingly to ensure safety; note conditions and progress for reporting to PT/OT
• Maintain equipment inventory and assist with department audits, cleaning, and inspections

About You

• You have a Physiotherapy Assistant Diploma from an approved college or a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology. If you are currently enrolled in these programs, your application will be considered.
• U-first training or a Dementia Care Course would be considered an asset.
• Previous experience working in a long-term care environment is an asset.
• You have knowledge of basic resident care practices and principles.
• You are passionate about healthcare and ensuring seniors have access to quality care and accommodations.
