Qualifications

About the Opportunity

The Occupational Therapist (OT) works under the supervision of the Manager of Rehabilitation Services. The OT collaborates with clients, caregivers, and families to facilitate, restore, and maintain optimal levels of function in self-care, productivity, and leisure. Responsibilities include consultation, assessment, treatment, evaluation, and follow-up in various settings. The OT establishes individualized treatment plans, manages a busy caseload, and provides education and support to clients, families, and caregivers. The OT also contributes to the clinical education of OT students and supervises OT Assistants, adhering to Nova Scotia Health policies and the professional standards of the Nova Scotia College of Occupational Therapists.

About You

  • Masters or Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy
  • Licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of respect

  • Flexibility to adjust to changing needs
  • Reliable transportation
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
  • Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Some travel between sites may be required.
Compensation and Benefits

$35.86 - $45.29 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
