Job summary

AgeCare Dawson in Chestermere, AB, is seeking an Occupational Therapist to assess, plan, implement and evaluate therapies aimed at restoring independence and preventing disability for residents in a long-term care setting.

You will establish goals, develop individualized plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team while maintaining accurate resident statistics and contributing to policy reviews.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy program.
• Eligible for CAOT membership and registered with AAROT.
• Experience with MDS/RAI; long-term care OT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and reassesses residents to identify rehabilitation needs.
• Establishes resident goals and documents care and treatment plans.
• Maintains communication with the multidisciplinary team for consistent care.
• Maintains residents' statistics and records.
• Develops reviews/updates for Rehabilitation Department policies.
• May orient or supervise staff or volunteers.
• Ensures safe department environment and equipment for residents and staff.
