Qualifications

  • 1-2 years' experience with Mental Health and Substance Use Services clients.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing occupational therapy services.
  • Serve as a consultant/resource to various agencies and caregivers.
  • Provide general occupational therapy clinical services to clients.
  • Participate in client education related to Mental Health & Substance Use.

Job Overview

Responsibilities

Working without general supervision, the Occupational Therapist works as a member of a multidisciplinary team, providing occupational therapy services to Mental Health & Substance Use clients and their caregivers, referred to the team. Is a consultant/resource to referral agencies, care facilities, and caregivers. Provides general occupational therapy clinical services to team clients. Participates in the provision of education to the client, the caregiver, the service provider and the public related to Mental Health & Substance Use.

Qualifications

Graduation from a recognized university program in Occupational Therapy. Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as an Occupational Therapist. Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT). One (1) to two (2) years' experience working with Mental Health and Substance Use Services clients. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
