Job summary

Lifemark Health Group is seeking a Permanent Part‑Time Occupational Therapist at Lifemark Physiotherapy Peterborough to deliver client‑centered OT services within a supportive, multidisciplinary team.

You will work with clients recovering from motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, veterans, and those with physical, cognitive and mental wellness goals, focusing on assessments, interventions, education, and discharge planning.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
  • 1–3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist preferred; newly licensed graduates accepted.
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle may be required.
  • Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check may be required.
  • Proof of Tuberculin (2‑Step Mantoux Test) clearance (within 6 months) may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, evidence‑based Occupational Therapy services to clients.
  • Apply clinical expertise in assessment, intervention, consultation, case management, discharge planning, education, and follow‑up.
  • Perform clinical evaluations, including admission assessments, ADL assessments, specialized seating and positioning assessments.
  • Identify appropriate equipment needs and initiate recommendations.
  • Consult with local vendors regarding equipment trials and complete applications/funding letters to Ministry of Health, insurance agencies and other funding parties.
  • Provide education on seating and positioning, independence with activities of daily living, wheelchairs and adaptive aids, and ongoing education to clients and families to improve function, independence and safety.
  • Evaluate restraint use, wound prevention, falls, and injury prevention.
  • Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client’s chart.
  • Excel in a collaborative, inter‑disciplinary team environment.
  • Exercise sound professional judgment.

About the Role

  • Clinical experience in brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work is an asset.
  • Passion for the profession and commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem‑solving, time management, computer and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Bilingualism—French and English—are assets.
