Job summary

Kitimat Community Development Centre in Kitimat, BC, is seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist for a full-time, permanent role. You will assess and support children 0–19 across clinic, home, school, and community settings.

You will work within an interdisciplinary team, applying family-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices to help children reach their full potential with positive outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.
  • Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.
  • Valid BC Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for children and youth (0–19).
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support participation, independence, and development.
  • Provide therapy services in clinic, home, school, and community settings.
  • Coach and support families with practical strategies to enhance daily routines and participation.
  • Collaborate with caregivers, educators, healthcare providers, and community partners.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case planning and program development.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and outcome measurement.
  • Uphold professional standards and evidence-based, inclusive practices.

The Kitimat Community Development Centre (CDC) is seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team supporting children and youth from birth to 19 years of age. About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide assessment, intervention, consultation, and ongoing support using family-centred, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed practices. Working alongside a dedicated team of professionals, you will help children and youth develop the skills they need to participate successfully in everyday life.

Services are delivered in a variety of settings, including our clinic, homes, schools, and community environments.

Key Responsibilities

What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications

Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with infants, children, and youth in community, school, health, or rehabilitation settings.

  • Understanding of culturally safe and trauma-informed approaches to service delivery.
