Job summary

Kitimat Community Development Centre is seeking an Early Childhood Educator or Infant and Toddler Educator to join a passionate team in Kitimat, BC. The role is permanent and can be full-time, part-time, or casual, with a wage range of 21.26 to 30.41 CAD per hour.

Qualified candidates will hold an ECE Diploma/Certificate/Assistant credential and a valid First Aid certificate. Applicants must provide a Criminal Record Check, immunization waiver, and three references, with flexibility to work

Qualifications

  • Valid Early Childhood Educator Diploma, Certificate, or Assistant.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate.
  • Criminal Record Check clearance letter.
  • Immunization waiver or clearance.
  • 3 current and satisfactory references.
  • Flexibility to work various hours during operating hours of the daycare.

Responsibilities

  • Hold a valid certificate to practice and complete continuing education hours required to maintain certificate.
  • Maintain ethical standards of ECEBC and the Kitimat CDC.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with Childcare Facility Licensing regulations.
  • Provide mentorship and support the work of the ECE Assistants.
  • Create and implement developmentally appropriate child-led activities.
  • Follow the classroom schedule and transitions throughout the day.
  • Ensure constant supervision, safety, and wellbeing of the children on shift.
  • Use developmentally appropriate teaching and child behavior management techniques.
  • Communicate with families regarding changes, progress, concerns or incidents.
  • Maintain positive daily communication with co-workers and build positive working relationships.
  • Collaborate with team and community resources to support inclusive practice.

The Kitimat Community Development Centre is looking for Early Childhood Educators/Infant and Toddler Educators who are enthusiastic and passionate about the field of early childhood education to join our team.
