Job description

We are currently seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.

The position will be based in Greater Sudbury (Falconbridge and Onaping), Ontario.

This is a 2-year staff contract.

Work location is not accessible by public transportation.

Duties and Accountabilities:

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources and Indigenous Affairs, the candidate will participate in delivering occupational health services which include but are not limited to disability management for industrial and non-industrial injuries and illnesses, short-term and long-term case management, WSIB claims management, oversight of the Employee and Family Assistance Program and Critical Incident Stress Management Team, coordinate medical assessments, oversight of ministry required and pre-placement medicals, health promotion and record keeping.

Education and Skills

The ideal candidate should possess a current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario, Certified Occupational Health Nurse or be working towards certification with the Canadian Nurses Association. A minimum of 3-5 years of Occupational Health nursing experience within a unionized and non-unionized environment is required. Experience in disability management and knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act and the Human Rights Legislation are preferred. The incumbent must also have demonstrated excellent interpersonal, planning, organizing, communication, and decision-making skills. Computer literacy and strong program management skills are also required.
