The Sudbury Catholic District School Board invites applications for a Long Term Occasional Teaching Position at St. Charles Elementary.

This 0.10 FTE assignment is preferably Tues afternoons and begins with a Prep role, contributing to a faith-based, inclusive Catholic learning community. Join our dynamic team as we nurture students' minds, bodies and spirits through evidence-based practices, technology in instruction, and collaborative planning with staff and parents.

Qualifications

• Current member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.
• Qualifications in Primary and Junior Divisions.
• Knowledge of current Ministry initiatives.
• Excellent English language communication, both oral and written.
• Experience with evidence-based assessment practices and diagnostics.
• Commitment to integrating technology in instruction and 21st century learning.
• Familiarity with IPRC and IEP processes.
• Differentiated instructional approaches to engage students.
• Ability to align practice with Catholic Education and OCSE expectations.

Long Term Occasional Teaching Position

0.10 FTE (To be determined: Tues afternoons preferably) Prep at St. Charles Elementary

This assignment is being posted subsequent to Article 17.1.3 The Hiring of Occasional Teachers to Long Term Assignments found in the Central Terms of the Board’s collective agreements with OECTA.The end date is subject to change, however, this assignment will not extend beyond the end of the current school year.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Current member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
• Qualifications in Primary and Junior Divisions
• Knowledge of current Ministry initiatives
• Excellent English language communication skills, both oral and written
• Sound knowledge of evidence-based assessment practices, including the use of diagnostic assessments to inform teaching and learning
• A commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner
• Working knowledge of the IPRC process and the IEP, as they relate to planning and programming
• Knowledge, experience and proven ability in utilizing differentiated instructional approaches within the classroom that support effective instruction and engage students
• An ability to implement a shared vision consistent with the principles of Catholic Education and integrating the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations throughout classroom practice
• A willingness to participate in the school’s ongoing literacy and numeracy initiatives
• Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability and commitment to working with students, staff, and parents
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to provide regular attendance
