St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton is recruiting a Physician Assistant to support obstetrics and gynecology services across its campuses in Hamilton. The PA will help extend physician services through assessment, diagnosis, interventions, and follow-up in both inpatient and ambulatory settings.

Qualifications

• Preference will be given to a new graduate.
• Graduate of an accredited Canadian or US PA training program.
• Certification (CCPA or PA-C) or eligible for certification (NCCPA or PACCC).
• Be registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) where required by law.
• Demonstrates superior communication skills.
• Able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team environment.
• Willing to work day/evening/night/weekend shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial intake for obstetrical patients (15-20 per week) to streamline obstetric care.
• Assist in postpartum hypertension management with ambulatory BP follow-up within 48–72 hours.
• Triage post-menopausal bleeding and perform initial investigations (endometrial biopsy, HPV testing).
• Support labor and delivery triage, consultations, and inpatients’ care within PA scope.
• Contribute to new care models and centralized referral pathways with physician oversight.
