Job summary

Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist in all aspects of food service, from production to distribution, with focus on portion control, waste management and sanitation. You will ensure menu adherence, proper food temperatures and leftovers usage while keeping areas clean and orderly.

Responsibilities include assisting with training of staff, serving meals, and performing cashier duties as needed, all within established policies and government regulations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated dexterity, speed and efficient work methods.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Ability to adapt to changes in techniques and procedures.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment with confidentiality.
• Commitment to perform duties regularly and in a culturally sensitive manner.
• Grade 10 education plus Food Handler Certificate or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assists in all aspects of food service assembly, production and distribution with emphasis on portions, waste and safety.
• Ensures prepared food adheres to menu and therapeutic specifications and maintains sanitation.
• Maintains storage and service areas in clean condition; monitors temperatures and manages leftovers.
• Operates cash register and completes related cash procedures.
