Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) is hiring a part-time Nursing Unit Assistant & Switchboard Operator for SPH Emergency. You will support patient documentation, admissions, and routing of calls in a busy ED environment across multiple sites.

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, you will coordinate clerical tasks, handle phone communications, and contribute to safety and quality initiatives while maintaining efficient patient flow and shift coverage.

Qualifikationen

• Grade 12 with medical terminology knowledge.
• Graduation from a Nursing Unit Clerk program with one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Description

Reporting to the Nurse manager, performs a variety of clerical functions related to patient documentation, including computerized admission, in accordance with established guidelines, policies and procedures. Responsible for receiving and forwarding all non auto-attendant telephone calls in the absence of the switchboard/receptionist.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training And Experience

Grade 12, medical terminology and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
