Vernon Jubilee Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Casual Nursing Unit Clerk to join their team in Vernon, B.C.!

Hours of work are rotating days and evenings: 08:00 to 20:00, and 09:00 to 18:00.

What will you work on?

In this role, you will perform clerical duties related to patient/resident care, including:

• Prioritizing, processing, coordinating, and transcribing physicians’ orders;
• Acting as a communication link for the Unit;
• Scheduling, booking, and coordinating patient/resident appointments;
• Assembling and maintaining patient/resident charts, inputting data, and transcribing information into relevant systems such as MARS, Kardex, Careplan, charts, or electronic health records;
• Performing clerical duties like keyboarding, data entry, filing, compiling, preparing reports, delivering and picking up items, maintaining supplies, and recording meeting minutes;
• Maintaining timekeeping records for staff and submitting them to payroll systems;
• Observing patient/resident call signals and relaying messages to appropriate personnel.

• A 5-minute typing test (40+ NWPM) from a recognized institution, completed within the past 48 months (non-supervised tests not accepted). Click here for testing details.
• A Nursing Unit Clerk Certificate;
• Your Resume outlining two years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
• A Cover Letter stating your availability to start and your on-call, casual work preferences (e.g., days of the week).
